Dirk van den Boom, born in 1966, studied political science and works in a multitude of professions – he is a free-lance consultant as well as partly employed by a small company implementing projects in the area of migration-policy as well as a moderator of conferences and meetings. In addition he is extraordinary professor for political science at the University of Münster. Aside from this area, he has been publishing SF- and Fantasy-novels persistently since 1998 and also worked as a translator. He is part of the editorial-staff of „Phantastik News„, the most important news-portal for SF/F and Horror in Germany. He lives together with his family in the southwestern German state of Saarland in its capital Saarbrücken.
